Dr Helen Wilson - head Veterinarian
- ANZCVS (Emergency and Critical Care)
Helen graduated from the University of Melbourne in 2007. After completion of her course she headed out into rural Victoria to work in a busy dairy practice. After spending alot of time working in the rain on a windy South Gippsland hillside and getting up at 3am to do the first calving of the day, Helen moved to Melbourne to commence an internship in Emergency and Critical Care. She spent 3 years working in emergency and completed her membership exams to the Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Surgeons in Emergency and Critical Care.
In 2014 Helen started working at our sister clinic in Brunswick Central. She loves getting to know her patients and clients on a longer term basis, as well as having a special interest in emergencies.
Helen can now be found here at Carlton 3 days a week and looks forward to meeting you and your beloved pets.
dr liz burger - veterinarian
After completing her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in 2014, Liz spent a year working at a small animal general practice in Melbourne. She then had an opportunity to follow her dreams and obtained a position as an intern at a veterinary oncology clinic. Here she worked alongside specialist oncologists in treating and caring for patients with cancer.
After this wonderful experience, Liz joined us at Brunswick Central and Carlton Vet clinics. She is extremely passionate about providing gold standard veterinary care, and has a special place in her heart for our senior patients.
Liz grew up in country Victoria and was lucky enough to have a menagerie of different pets over the years, however she attributes her love for animals to her childhood best friend – a beautiful black Labrador named Simba.

SHAE WHITTAKER - PRACTICE MANAGER
Shae has worked as a veterinary nurse since 2003. While working at one of our sister clinics, she gained her Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing. Shae moved to Queensland for a few years where she learnt a lot about ticks, toads and snakes! After moving back to Melbourne, she joined our Brunswick Central team in February 2013.
Shae has a special interest in nurse consultation, dental care, weight consultations and medical cases. She enjoys horse riding and running, and loves her cats, Squirt and Frankie. Shae has owned Squirt since she was 3 days old and adopted Frankie when he was just 8 weeks old. She only intended to look after Frankie for one night but that was a long time ago!
Stephanie james - Trainee Veterinary Nurse/puppy pre-school trainer
In March 2016 we welcomed a new addition to the nursing team, Stephanie. Stephanie began part time with us and will be juggling her new position with her nursing studies as well as doing some of her training at one of our sister clinics.
Like all of our nurses, Stephanie has a particular soft spot for our feline friends and has her own fur baby, Kingston, a domestic long hair cat who was also featured as our Patient of the Month in April.
Outside of work Stephanie loves to keep active and enjoys keeping fit, rock climbing and heading to the slopes every snow season. But she does appreciate a healthy life balance and is quite partial to spending the day on the couch with Kingston and Netflix.
Rachel Huculak - veterinary nurse/puppy pre-school trainer
Rachel joined our team in November 2016. In 2013 she completed certificate 3 in Animal studies and went on to complete her certificate 4 in veterinary nursing over 2014 and 2015. Prior to working with us she spent two and a half years working in a smaller clinic.
She has always had a passion for animals and has always wanted to have a career that involves her love for them. She hopes to further her studies and see what else the veterinary nursing industry has in store for her.
Outside of work Rachel enjoys spending time with her family and friends, travelling, going to the movies and having a relaxing day at home on the couch with her fur baby Chico, a rescued Jack Russell X.
